Wedding Blog

It wouldn't be the modern age without a blog, now would it? We will be keeping you updated on the wedding preparations and important information, we are not sure if thats cool or quite sad but it might be cathartic and a great sleeping aid if you're having trouble nodding off.

It was another lovely day to go to a wedding showcase at our chosen venue and it was worth while as we have booked another two key parts for our big day.

It's not everyday you can get stopped by a complete stranger and be amazed at what they do next... Mark Richards, I take my hat off to you (hypothetically as I don't actually wear a hat). You will all have to wait and see on the day what he is all about.

Well thats the Save The Dates ordered, can't wait to hand them out - something different!

Good news has arrived, we have booked a new supplier for our venue decorations with a more reliable supplier Wow Weddings & Events. We have also had a slight change of plan to the original:

  • Chair Covers & Sashes
  • Table Runners & Swags
  • Scatter Crystals

I wanted to create a symbol that would represent one of the biggest moments of our lives, this would be featured throughout our plans and the big day on everything and anything we can put it on, with help from the family graphic designer we are pleased to showcase the finished design, something modern and fresh.

Look out for it on the day hidden on the smallest of things.

Mr & Mrs Mason

Originally we wan't going to have the full monty of flowers as we had the Feather Plume Centre Pieces, but when we were let down by our venue decorator we had a re-think, we also walked into one wedding fayre in particular and what we saw took our breath away. Since then we have decided its flowers all the way but with an impact.

Thanks to Lynne at Fine Flowers for her patience and help with bringing our ideas together we have booked our impressive floral decorations to complete our theme.

Who said organising a wedding was an easy task, we have been let down by our Venue Decorations supplier Dream Dressings which is disappointing, but to top it off they also decided to try and keep our deposit, a quick call to Trading Standards and a recorded letter through the post sorted that one out and we have received our money back in full.

Now we need to find someone else thats more dependable.

Thank you Marie for a lovely evening with Tea & Cake, Cake and more Cake... Every flavour was perfect and we have now ordered our impressive 4 tier Cake - Thank You Marie's Couture Cakes.

After trying a number of styles and colours We have booked our Suits from Kevin Paul complete with the finishing touches, I had better think about starting the "diet".

What is it with kids and sweets, they will do anything for them and with Kev being a big kid himself I have gone and booked a Candy Cart... so kids you will have to be good during the day and eat your dinner to get your hands on the mountain of sweets we have lined up.

When we tell people we are getting married we get a positive reaction, but then we tell them its 2016 and people are disappointed as they don't want to wait 3 years (maybe because they want an excuse for a party). So we have some good news for everyone and that is we have decided to bring the date forward 12 months... Yay! Mainly because Kayleigh has bought her wedding dress and can't wait the extra year... women are so impatient!

The new date is set as Saturday 19th September 2015 - we won't change it again, promise.

Thank you Electra Films, today we have booked our photography, videography and the days fun entertainment that is sure to get you all in the mood for a good night.

"I gotta feeling that tonight's gonna be a good night"

Another major item ticked off the list, our venue decorations are being supplied by Dream Dressings.

  • Colour Scheme
  • Feather Plume Centre Pieces
  • Mirror Plates
  • Table Runners & Swags
  • Topiary Trees
  • Chair Covers & Sashes

Exciting News! I have got my dress today, can't say too much because of Kev.

Well I suppose the first thing on any future brides list is the venue and Kayleigh fell in love with the first one she saw - Hawkesyard Estate.

We continued to view a number of other potential venues after going through endless brochures to create a shortlist, but it was inevitable that we would commit to Hawkesyard Estate. It is Rugeley's hidden treasure with its stunning architecture and formal gardens, I am sure you will all appreciate why we chose this venue when you see it on the day.

The date is set Saturday 17th September 2016 (we need the time to save)
